Provided is a smaller sized acoustic wave device using a piston mode. The acoustic wave device (1) is divided in series into a first acoustic wave resonator unit having a first IDT electrode (11) and a second acoustic wave resonator unit having a second IDT electrode (12) and satisfies: Wc < (Wa + Wb), where Wa is the dimension, in the direction in which the electrode fingers extend, of a high acoustic velocity region provided on a first bus bar (11a) side of the first IDT electrode (11), Wb is the dimension, in the direction in which the electrode fingers extend, of a high acoustic velocity region provided on a fourth bus bar (12a) side of the second IDT electrode (12), and Wc is the dimension of an inter-stage connection (17). |
