A control system 10 for controlling a household electrical appliance 12 has a router device 26 connected to an internet, a mobile terminal 16 sending a control signal for controlling the household electrical appliance12, a communication device 14 connected to the household electrical appliance 12 and receiving the control signal, and a relay device 18 connected to the router device 26 and relaying communication between the communication device 14 and the mobile terminal 16. The mobile terminal 16 and the relay device 18 are adapted to have a first communication between the mobile terminal 16 and the relay device 18 only through the router device 26 and a second communication between the mobile terminal 16 and the relay device 18 through the internet 20 and the router device 26. The mobile terminal 16 is adapted to enable a user to select the first or second communication by the use of the mobile terminal 16.
