PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide retrieval services suitable to individual television viewers.SOLUTION: An information processing unit includes: a viewing information acquisition part which acquires viewing information representing a state of viewing of a television broadcast by a viewer; a selection part which acquires correspondence information representing correspondence between a retrieval service of retrieving information of a predetermined field and the viewing information from a storage part, and selects the retrieval service on the basis of the acquired correspondence information and the viewing information that the viewing information acquisition part acquires; and an output part which outputs selected service information representing the retrieval service that the selection part selects.
