PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristics while maintaining high charging/discharging capacity by using a silicon-based active material, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SOLUTION: The negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a conductive powder formed by coating surfaces of silicon-based active material particles with conductive carbon films. A peak half width of a d-band measured from a Raman spectrum of the conductive carbon films is equal to or more than 100 cm.
