Provided is an operation pedal for a vehicle, said pedal having a pedal arm that is provided with a reinforcement rib, wherein variation in reinforcement by means of the reinforcement rib can be suppressed and further reductions in thickness and weight can be achieved. The reinforcement rib (30) is provided so as to extend contiguously from the periphery of a boss portion (12) toward the lower end, and the boss portion (12) is provided in a flat portion (36) of the reinforcement rib (30) so as to be approximately vertical. Thus, the strength of the pedal arm (14), including in the vicinity of the boss portion (12) which is subjected to a large load during a pressing operation, can be appropriately increased, and it is possible to achieve weight reduction and cost reduction due to a reduction in thickness, while also ensuring necessary strength. The pedal arm (14) has a flat plate shape, but because a front-side recess (32) and rear-side recess (34) are formed between the reinforcement rib (30), and a front-side flange (20) and rear-side flange (22) due to the provision of said front-side flange (20) and rear-side flange (22), it is possible to achieve a reduction in thickness while ensuring necessary strength even in this simple flat plate-shaped pedal arm (14). |
