<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize detection of a reception level (reception electric field strength) without causing communication interruption, when a reception frequency is switched to the frequency of a peripheral base station, and to realize handoff with high speech communication quality in a mobile station device. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile station device 3 communicating with a base station device 1 (own station) by a communication frame including a traffic channel (TCH) transferring voice data and a plurality of control channels (LP+R, P, RI, SW, undefined) transferring control data switches a frequency f1 at which the own device is communicating to the frequency f2 of a peripheral base station 2 in the time when it receives the control channel (RI, SW, undefined) of the intermittent communication frame of a plurality of consecutive communication frames, and performs control to detect a reception level at the frequency f2.
