<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing carbon nanotubes mainly comprising double-walled carbon nanotubes with high conductivity and high heat resistance; and to provide a method for producing the carbon nanotube-containing composition. <P>SOLUTION: This carbon nanotube-containing composition has the following features: (1) when observed via transmission electron microscopy, at least 50 out of every 100 carbon nanotubes are double-walled carbon nanotubes; (2) the carbon nanotubes have an average outer diameter in the range of 1.0-3.0 nm; (3) during thermogravimetric analysis at an atmospheric temperature increase of 10°C/min, a high-temperature side combustion peak exists at 700-850°C, and the relationship between low-temperature side weight loss (TG(L)) and high-temperature side weight loss (TG(H)) is TG(H)/(TG(L)+TG(H))≥0.75; (4) the composition containing carbon nanotubes has volume resistivity between 1.0×10<SP>-2</SP>Ωcm and 1.0×10<SP>-4</SP>Ωcm.
