FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: disclosed method of correcting defective image pixels, which includes creating a map of defective pixels in memory, determining coordinates of each defective pixel of a video sensor matrix; using an encoder, determining and storing increments in the memory, particularly distances between adjacent defective pixels, arranged in ascending order of the pixel number in the matrix, wherein the increments divide them into one or more groups in bits, and the increments occupy a variable number of bits and are expressed in the number of bits, consecutively processed in rows, beginning from the top left corner of the matrix and ending at the bottom right corner; receiving, by the decoder of the image correction device, an input bitmap video image in the form of a stream of frames; reading an increment from the map of defective pixels using the decoder; if the current pixel of the frame of the input video image is normal and does not require correction, it is recorded in the frame of the output image, and if the current pixel is defective and requires correction, it is transmitted to a defective pixel correction unit for correction and the corrected value of the defective pixel is recorded in the frame of the output video image.EFFECT: providing a map of defective pixels of a smaller size, which reduces the amount of memory for storing the map of defective pixels.12 cl, 5 dwg |
