PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in the display quality of a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for driving a display device which includes a pixel 123 whose display state is controlled by writing of data of an image signal from a driver circuit part 121 and has a moving image display mode and a still image display mode. The still image display mode includes: a first period of writing the data of the image signal from the driver circuit part 121 into the pixel; after the first period, a second period of stopping supply of a signal and voltage for operating the driver circuit part 121 to the driver circuit part 121; and after the second period, a third period of restarting the supply of the signal and voltage for operating the driver circuit part 121 to the driver circuit part 121 and writing the data of the image signal into the pixel from the driver circuit part 121, so that the pixel keeps displaying a still image. The length of a period from the stop of the supply of the signal for operating the driver circuit part 121 to the driver circuit part 121 till the restart in the second period and the third period is set in accordance with the temperature of the display device.
