PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode active material high in capacity and capable of being used as a material constituting a sealed storage battery.SOLUTION: An active material for a sealed battery is an active material used in a sealed battery. The active material includes an alkali metal atom and an oxygen atom, and has a content ratio of an alkali metal atom of 26-75 mass% relative to the whole of the active material. Alternatively, the active material includes an alkali metal atom and a third component atom other than an oxygen atom. Further, the third component atom is at least one atom selected from transition metal elements belonging to Groups 7 to 11 on the periodic table. |
