<p>The invention relates to a remote control system for heavy machinery in general, used in travelling crane bridges for converter premises in the mining industry, intended to be useful mainly for transporting or transferring containers having solid and liquid materials at extremely high temperatures and great tonnage, characterised in that the remote-control system includes at least two mobile cells or base stations (4) located at the ends of the foundry premises (15) and communicating with a control room (26) via optical fibre transport (7), which enable the permanent distribution of the network communications of the means and machinery which are moving with the travelling crane bridge (1); in addition, the system has a subscriber, wherein the subscriber resolves via an algorithm what it considers to be parameters: a) the field intensity and b) the packet error rate; in accordance with the algorithm, the subscriber decides which mobile base station (4) should be in charge of the communication (handover or handoff), as a requirement for maintaining communication with the means at all times; all via an OFDM modulating radiofrequency network, making it possible to maintain communication even in situations where there is no direct line of sight, also known as not susceptible, NLOS, or non-line-of-sight; likewise, in order to operate the crane (1) in remote control mode, the basic and vital requirements of each subsystem must be met, considering the following: a brake system, a positioning system, a weighing system, an anti-collision system, a control and instrumentation system, a system of support video cameras and a system for wireless communication by radiofrequency.</p> |
