A chassis dynamometer with improved ability to maintain a constant vehicle height relative to a floor surface is provided. The chassis dynamometer includes a displacement unit that displaces one of a load roller (2) and a free roller (3) relative to the other. In a positioned state in which the load roller (2) is positioned relative to a wheel (22), the displacement unit moves the free roller (3) in a direction toward the load roller (2) along a circumferential direction of the wheel (22) to thereby reduce a load applied to the load roller (2), and moves the free roller (3) in a direction away from the load roller (2) along the circumferential direction of the wheel (22) to thereby increase the load applied to the load roller (2). |
