摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon selective oxidation catalyst capable of selectively oxidizing hydrocarbon (HC), and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the hydrocarbon selective oxidation catalyst 1 for selectively oxidizing hydrocarbon, and the method for manufacturing the same, the hydrocarbon selective oxidation catalyst 1 contains a solid solution 4 in which pentavalent or hexavalent transition metal is subjected to substitutional solid solution to an oxide 2 of the 3d transition metal and an oxide 3 of the pentavalent or hexavalent transition metal, or a part of the 3d transition metal of the oxide of the 3d transition metal. When manufacturing the hydrocarbon selective oxidation catalyst, a dissolving step and an aqueous solution drying and baking step are performed. In the dissolving step, a salt of 3d-ransition metal and a salt of pentavalent or hexavalent transition metal are dissolved in water to obtain a transition metal aqueous solution.
