A disk drive device includes: a chassis; an annular hub on which a recording disk is to be mounted; a fluid dynamic bearing mechanism that supports the hub freely rotatable relative to the chassis; an annular extended portion extending outwardly in a radial direction from the hub; and an annular recess which is provided in the chassis and where the annular extended portion at least partially enters in the radial direction, in which a gap between the annular recess and the annular extended portion includes a portion that forms a flexed labyrinth in a cross-sectional view.

1. A disk drive device comprising:
a chassis; an annular hub on which a recording disk is mountable; a fluid dynamic bearing mechanism that supports the hub freely rotatable relative to the chassis; an annular extended portion extending outwardly in a radial direction from the hub; and an annular recess which is provided in the chassis and where the annular extended portion at least partially enters in the radial direction, wherein a gap between the annular recess and the annular extended portion includes a portion that forms a flexed labyrinth in a cross-sectional view, wherein the chassis comprises:
an internal piece provided at a near side to a rotation axis in the radial direction and facing the hub in an axial direction; andan external piece provided at a distant side to the rotation axis and outwardly in the radial direction relative to the internal piece as a separate piece therefrom, and facing the recording disk in the axial direction, and wherein the annular recess is provided between the internal piece and the external piece.
