FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding and can be used at plasma DC reverse polarity welding in the medium of aluminium gas and that of aluminium alloys as well as nonferrous metals. Non-consumable electrode comprises conducting body with copper barrel fitted therein and provided with tungsten insert extending from said barrel by magnitude equal to barrel bottom depth. Note here that geometrical sizes of tungsten insert and copper barrel are selected from preset relationships. Water-cooled tube is fitted inside said barrel to cool electrode inner surface down. Cooling fluid is fed at the rate of 4-5 m/s. Note here that tungsten insert end temperature is kept equal to 2300-2500°C while welding at the current of 500-700 A.EFFECT: higher quality of the weld, longer life of electrode.2 cl, 1 dwg
