Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for managing a remote EMS apparatus in the present invention. An update method of the remote energy management system (EMS) apparatus comprises: a step that a configuration management system (CMS) receives apparatus information from the remote EMS apparatus; a step that the CMS transfers update information to the remote EMS apparatus in case of being in need of an update of the remote EMS apparatus based on information whether the remote ENS apparatus is updated or not determined based on the apparatus information; and a step of receiving an update completion signal for instructing the update of the remote EMS apparatus is completed from the remote EMS apparatus.
