发明名称 An improved roll press for squeezing liquid from solid or pulpy material
摘要 751,757. Roll presses for dejuicing fruits. WILLMES, J. Dec. 11, 1953 [Dec. 13, 1952 ; Oct. 26, 1953 ; Oct. 26, 1953], No. 34585/53. Class 14(2). A roll press for squeezing solid or pulpy products e.g. fruits, between rolls comprises a number of peripheral rolls 17 &c. which bear against at least one central roll 3 which is hollow, filled with a fluid pressure medium and has a wall of elastic material. The peripheral rolls may also be hollow, elastic walled and contain pressure fluid. In operation, fruit is fed by a hopper 44 past rollers 45 which remove some juice to an outer endless conveyer 37 which is guided by rollers 38. An inner conveyer 36 forms an opening 58 with the outer conveyer and both pass into a pressing chamber 34 between the central roll and peripheral rollers. Both or only one of the conveyers may be of yieldable and liquid impermeable material. Expressed juice collects in a trough 65 and is discharged through a duct 65a. Solid residue is removed by means 39, 40 and 41 and passes to surfaces 62 and screen 63. The peripheral rolls, either motor driven or hand operated, rotate, by friction, the central roll and conveyer bands. The pressure inside the rolls may be atmospheric if the elastic walls are sufficiently thick, and the pressure may be varied by means of a diaphragm pump. The surfaces of the rolls may have depressions, and there may be means for cooling and/or heating at least one of the rolls. Modified feeding means to the press are described which partially dejuice the fruit. In modifications, a plurality of central rolls are associated with at least one common conveyer with a peripheral roll common to two central rolls. One of the peripheral rolls' may be hollow and have a porous outer wall, and it may surround the central and other peripheral rolls, and in these modifications one conveyer or none is' used, the pressing chamber being formed between the central roll and the porous peripheral roll, the expressed juice passing through the latter to collecting troughs. See e.g. Figs. 16, 17 and 18 (not shown).
