<p>The present invention relates to cermet having a structure in which a core includes a hard phase and a rim surrounding the core, and to a cutting tool using the cermet, wherein the cermet secures uniformity in a microstructure, thereby having lower brittleness compared with conventional cermet, and thus retaining improved thermal shock resistance. The cermet according to the present invention comprises 20-50 wt% of Ti (Cx, Ny) and at least one binding phase of Co and Ti, and has a core-rim structure, wherein, of Ti-containing phases on a refined structure, the area proportion of a phase having a size of 2.0-3.5μm is 88% or higher.</p> |
