According to an embodiment of the present invention, an electric vehicle control device is provided with: a plurality of motors that are capable of transmitting motive power to the wheels of an electric vehicle; and an inverter that supplies electric power for driving the plurality of motors. A control unit controls the inverter and, when the electric vehicle is moving under prescribed speed conditions, compares q-shaft voltage feed forward values (VqFF) and q-shaft voltage command values (Vq*) that are used for drive control of the motors and detects that a miswiring exists between the motors and the inverter when VqFF≥1.5・Vq*. The control unit can thereby detect miswirings between the plurality of motors and the inverter that are installed in an electric vehicle and that drive the wheels of the electric vehicle.
