<p>A system and method for automatically notifying others when a 9-1-1 emergency call has been placed from a cellular phone. The user selects the people who she would like to be contacted in the case of an emergency. The contact information (e.g., phone numbers and email address) for these notification contacts are entered into an application resident on the phone. In the event of an emergency, the application connects the user to the 9-1-1 system and automatically notifies the user's predetermined list of contacts via email and/or text notification. These notifications preferably contain the user's name, telephone number, current location, and the date/time of the 9-1-1 call.</p> |
