<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can correct left-side registration while responding to a demand for size reduction without a need for a high accuracy component or a complicated control mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a fixing member 12; a registration roller pair 15; top end misalignment amount deriving means, which is disposed in an upstream side of the registration roller pair 15 along a sheet conveyance direction E and derives the maximum top end misalignment amount of the sheet P at its top end with respect to the sheet width direction M; a photoreceptor drum 3 carrying an image, disposed in a downstream side of the registration roller pair 15 along the sheet conveyance direction E; an optical system 2 for writing an electrostatic image on the photoreceptor drum 3; side end misalignment amount deriving means deriving the maximum side end misalignment amount of the sheet P at both side ends with respect to the sheet conveyance direction E, based on the derived results by the top end misalignment amount deriving means; and adjusting means adjusting a writing position in a sheet width direction M where the optical system 2 writes an electrostatic image on the photoreceptor drum 3, based on the derived results of the side ends misalignment deriving means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
