<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment composition for a color filter whose hue is hardly changed even when subjected to thermal history at a high temperature and which is excellent in heat resistance, and also to provide a color filter which does not cause lowering of contrast even when carrying out image display for a long time at a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment composition for the color filter includes C.I. pigment green 58 (A) and an epoxy crosslinked polyurethane resin (B), and 0.1-10 parts of nonvolatile components of the epoxy crosslinked polyurethane resin (B) is contained per 100 parts of the C.I. pigment green 58 (A) in terms of mass. There is provided a method for producing the pigment composition for the color filter.
