AERATION APPARATUS HAVING INTERMITTENT/CONTINUOUS AERATION FUNCTION AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

The present invention provides an aeration apparatus capable of conducting an aeration operation on an intermittent or continuous basis and an operating method thereof. The aeration apparatus includes: an air chamber changes the water level by drawing in the air or discharging the air; an air storage unit which is arranged in the air chamber and enables the inflowing air to push out the water body in the air chamber while being compressed to a predetermined volume; a water body path which is arranged in the air chamber and lets the water body to flow in and out from the air chamber according to the presence of the compressed air; a diffuser which is connected to the air storage unit and has multiple air holes. The aeration apparatus can adjust the volume of the air chamber and the amount of the inflowing air to control the aeration and non-aeration cycles. When the aeration apparatus supplies the amount of air higher than the air amount required for an intermittent aeration operation, newly compressed air can be supplied to the diffuser before all of the compressed air supplied from the air chamber to the diffuser is discharged through the air holes. Accordingly, the aeration apparatus can conduct a continuous aeration operation of discharging the air from the diffuser.
