<p>Equipment for processing fibrous material with reduced attrition rates comprising a carder (45) having a movable carding surface, and a feed device(40 for feeding fibrous material to the carder. The feed device comprises a slide surface (41) disposed substantially tangentially to the carding surface and arranged to direct fibrous material primarily under the influence of gravity into contact with the carder.
