<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline storage battery positive electrode that can adjust usage of yttrium and the like used for the positive electrode of the storage battery while maintaining battery performance as an alkaline storage battery, and also provide a method of manufacturing the alkaline storage battery positive electrode, an alkaline storage battery using the alkaline storage battery positive electrode, and a method of manufacturing the alkaline storage battery. <P>SOLUTION: In the alkaline storage battery positive electrode, the surfaces of nickel hydroxide particles contained in the alkaline storage battery positive electrode are coated with a cobalt compound coating layer. The positive electrode contains the nickel hydroxide particles and a zinc compound, and also contains at least one of yttrium and ytterbium. The amount of yttrium or ytterbium is based on a mixing ratio of at least one of yttrium in a yttrium compound and ytterbium in a ytterbium compound, which are determined with respect to zinc in the zinc compound on the basis of a ratio of capacity characteristics of an alkaline storage battery and output characteristics of the alkaline storage battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
