PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display body with high designing property using structural coloring.SOLUTION: The display body includes a substrate, a multilayer laminate formed on a surface of the substrate, and a fine rugged layer formed on a surface of the multilayer laminate. The multilayer laminate includes two or more layers. At least the multilayer laminate and the fine rugged layer are transmissive to light in a predetermined wavelength region. Each layer constituting the multilayer laminate is made of a material having a different refractive index from refractive indices of adjoining layers with respect to light at a wavelength in the predetermined wavelength region. The material constituting each layer of the multilayer laminate and the fine rugged layer satisfies such a relationship that an optical film thickness defined by a product of the refractive index of the material and a physical film thickness of the layer is less than 7/4 times of the shortest wavelength in the predetermined wavelength region. In the fine rugged layer, a rugged structure is formed by partially reducing a physical film thickness of the layer; and the rugged structure includes projections and recesses giving a height difference equal to or less than the physical film thickness of the layer. |
