The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting cancer or metastasis, containing a Quassia undulata extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. More specifically, an extract of Quassia undulata roots extracted by using water, alcohol, or a mixture thereof as a solvent, or a fraction thereof has been ascertained to inhibit the growth of cancer cells, inhibit the metastasis of cancer cells, and inhibit the formation of a human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) tube, which plays an important role in angiogenesis, and thus can be useful as a composition for inhibiting cancer or cancer metastasis or as a composition for inhibiting angiogenesis.
