An inner pouch (20) of a cell culture container (10) is encapsulated in an outer pouch (50) in a state wherein rubber stoppers (24) are exposed to the outside. A closed space (56) surrounded by the outside surface of the inner pouch (20) and the inside surface of the outer pouch (50) is in a sterilized state. Therefore, a sterilized state can be maintained for the outside surface of the inner pouch (20) for accommodating variable material containing cells. In addition, a sterilization process can be performed prior to accommodating variable material containing cells and therefore settings for conditions for the sterilization process can be carried out comparatively easily without considering effects thereof on the variable material containing cells. Furthermore, the bottom surfaces and side surfaces of recessed parts in holding parts (30) and the bottom surfaces and side surfaces of covers allow liquid to pass through; therefore, if the variable material containing cells is held in a holding space (30a) and then a liquid medium is added to this inner pouch (20) and the variable material containing cells is cultured, cells are propagated substantially uniformly in the entire variable material containing cells. |
