<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric device which performs power generation by utilizing a temperature difference, or absorption or discharge of heat by power.SOLUTION: A thermoelectric device comprises: a substrate 1 composed of an insulator; a plurality of first thin films 2 which are composed of metal (e.g., bismuth, tellurium etc.) or semiconductor (e.g., silicon, germanium etc.) and formed on one surface 1a of the substrate 1 at a distance from each other; a plurality of second thin films 3 which are composed of metal or semiconductor (it is preferable that one semiconductor is a p-type semiconductor and the other is an n-type semiconductor) different from that of the first thin films 2 and arranged on the other surface 1b of the substrate 1 at a distance from each other; and a plurality of connection parts 4, 5 which are provided to pierce the substrate 1 to connect ends of the first thin films 2 with ends of the second thin films 3, respectively. As a result, a series circuit in which the first thin films 2 and the second thin films 3 are alternately connected by the connection parts 4, 5 is formed.</p> |
