Disclosed are methods for the production of a glow plug which has a housing (1), a ceramic glow pin (5) and the protection tube (6), wherein a part (5b) of the glow pin (5) protrudes from the protective tube, the part (5b) is thinner than the thick part (5a) disposed in the protection tube (6) and leads to the glow tip (7), the glow pin (5) is inserted into the protection tube (6), and the protection tube (6) is inserted into the housing (1). According to the present invention, the fixing element (11) located at the first end of the glow pin (5) is provided, the inner diameter of the fixing element is smaller than the maximum diameter of the glow pin (5), and the fixing element (11) is fixed to the protection tube (6). In an alternative embodiment of the method according to the present invention, the protection tube (6) is locally heated in at least one zone (12) located in the portion of the protection tube (6) surrounding the thin portion (5b), and wherefrom the internal width of the protection tube (6) is reduced to a value less than the diameter of the thick portion (5a) of the glow pin (5). |
