Disclosed are a method and device for transmitting and receiving instruction information. The method of transmitting instruction information comprises: obtaining a first audio signal carrying a first and/or second instruction information outputted from an audio interface of a mobile terminal, the first instruction information being used for instructing a receiving device to perform an operation corresponding to the first instruction information, the second instruction information being used for instructing transmission of the first instruction information to the receiving device; generating a first transmission signal carrying the first instruction information according to the obtained first audio signal, and transmitting the first transmission signal to the receiving device, the first transmission signal being an optical signal or sound wave signal. The present invention solves the technical problem that some relevant optical communication modes are incompatible with mobile terminals of different models.
