PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: There is provided a liquid crystal display device that has a plurality of pixels in a display unit and performs display in a plurality of frame periods, where the frame period includes a writing period and a retention period, and inputs an image signal to each of the plurality of pixels in the writing period and subsequently turns off a transistor included in the plurality of pixels in the retention period to retain the image signal for at least 30 seconds. The pixels each include a semiconductor layer composed of an oxide semiconductor layer, and the oxide semiconductor layer has a carrier density of less than 1×10/cm. |
