PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing and rotating electronic component with an illumination function which can smoothly perform a rotation operation of a rotating electronic component with a shaft and a press operation of a pressing electronic component with press of the shaft, and also can perform effective illumination of the shaft.SOLUTION: A pressing and rotating electronic component with an illumination function includes: a shaft 50 which has light transmissivity; a rotor 70 which penetrates the shaft 50 in a vertically-movable manner and rotates with the shaft 50; detection means (a slider 90, a slide pattern 127) which changes detection output in accordance with the rotation of the rotor 70; an operation body 190 which is arranged on the lower side of the rotor 70 and moves vertically by being pressed by a pressing part 62 on the lower end of the shaft 50; a light emitting element 173 which is placed on the operation body 190 and stored in an element storage part 61 provided on the lower end of the shaft 50; and a pressing switch 171 which is arranged on the lower side of the operation body 190 and is pressed by a pressing part 203 provided in the operation body 190.
