<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for practically producing 5-isopropyl-7,7-dimethoxy heptan-2-yl=acetate, which is an important intermediate of solanone, by using easily available starting materials, and a method for practically producing solanone. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing 5-isopropyl-7,7-dimethoxy heptan-2-yl=acetate, 5-isopropyl-7,7-dimethoxy heptan-2-yl=acetate is obtained by using a limonene oxide as a starting material and successively performing oxidative cleavage with periodic acid, dimethylacetal protection, reduction, acetylation of a hydroxyl group, and catalytic hydrogenation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
