PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit which effectively extends luminance lifetime without increasing the costs and the power consumption, and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the backlight unit.SOLUTION: A backlight unit 30 includes: a light source unit 36 where a light source (not shown) is mounted; a light guide plate 61 which converts light from the light source into planar light and emits the planar light; and support members 32A, 32B provided between the light source unit 36 and the light guide plate 61. Each support member (32A, 32B) has a function of reducing a distance between the light source unit 36 and the light guide plate 61 through secular variation. |
