PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of effectively improving the communication performance of an optical switch network, accompanying a shortened time required for changing a communication path between a reception port and a transmission port included in an optical switch.SOLUTION: On receiving a request signal to change the connection path of the optical switch, an optical switch system replies an ACK signal if a transmission port is idle, and in parallel thereto, instructs the optical switch to change the communication path.
