In this invention, a metal body does not readily separate from a sapphire structure and other members are made to abut against the surface of a sapphire substrate without impediment. The provided sapphire structure having an attached metal body is characterized by comprising the following: a sapphire structure that has a flat surface with a recess provided therein; and a metal body that is placed inside said recess and bonded to the inside surface thereof. This sapphire structure having an attached metal body is also characterized in that the metal body is provided with a surface section that is flush with the flat surface of the sapphire structure.
