<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in an actual clinical surgery that it is difficult to coagulate living tissue by microwave without giving an excessive damage to the living tissue and to certainly cut the living tissue. <P>SOLUTION: A medical treatment instrument coagulates the living tissue by the microwave without giving the excessive damage to the living tissue and seals a vascular structure, so that the living tissue can be cut certainly. On a cutting blade part of the medical treatment instrument, the medical treatment instrument has a movable first electrode 1 connected to an outer conductor, a fixed second electrode 2 connected to a center electrode, and an blade 17 composed of an insulator. The medical treatment instrument operates such that the living tissue is held between the movable first electrode and the blade composed of the insulator, the living body is coagulated by supplying the microwave to the fixed second electrode, and the living body is cut by turning the movable first electrode.
