<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mode converter that allows forming a through hole for providing an excitation pin by a simplified process, thereby achieving efficiency of a work process, and to provide a method of manufacturing the mode converter.SOLUTION: A mode converter 1 that mutually converts signals between a signal transmission path C1 and a waveguide 40 includes: a first substrate 10 having a first primary surface 10a and a second primary surface 10b; a second substrate 42 stacked on the first primary surface 10a side of the first substrate 10; a plane circuit C propagating a high-frequency signal; a conductive excitation pin 22 protruding through the substrates 10 and 42; and the waveguide 40 having ground conductor layers 30 and 31 and a wall portion 21A. An anti-pad 33 is formed between the ground conductor layer 31 on the second primary surface 10b side and an end portion 22b of the excitation pin 22. A base material 2 of the first substrate 10 is composed of liquid crystal polymer.</p> |
