The device has a lens (42) which is positioned for forming the Fourier transform of a hologram on an image detection system (44). The relative positions of the lens and support (40) are selected so that a desired amount of replicas of the image are displayed on a plane of the detection system. A processing system (48) is provided for performing a combination of replicas of the image. The combination is a calculation of the average of the different replicas.
