1. A method for producing a modified weak acid/salt solution, comprising:
subjecting a starting solution of a weak acid and a salt to at least one pulsing event, wherein said pulsing event comprises at least one pulse of direct current; and modifying the starting solution to produce a modified solution having a higher conductivity and higher proton count than the starting solution.
