<p>The present disclosure relates to a multilayer sound suppression barrier that is particularly suitable for use in suppressing noise from an internal combustion engine (21, figure 1) or other elements of a power-train of a larger work machine (10), truck etc. The multilayer sound suppression barrier comprises a flexible support layer 23, and an acoustical insulation layer comprising a core 24, a noise absorption layer 25 and a cover layer 26. The acoustical insulation layer is mounted to the support layer, possibly by means of bolts passing through apertures 29, 30 in the layers. The cover may be located on one side or both sides of the acoustical insulation layer, and the core, noise absorption layer and cover layer may be bonded together. The various layers are intended to provide both noise absorption and noise reflection properties, with the barrier being located adjacent one or more elements of a power-train, and/or located in a vehicle fender.</p> |
