In order to increase safety, a computer-implemented method for determining the position of an elevator car in an elevator shaft using a coding device is proposed, wherein a section of a code strip (2) and/or of the bearing device is recorded by an optical detection device (1) as a pixel image (K) composed of pixels and the time of recording is measured and is assigned to the pixel image, wherein the position can be determined analytically from position markers of the code strip by means of an algorithm, and wherein at least one checking method is carried out which use(s) inter alia a calculated extrapolated position. |
