A formulation for an oral care application comprises a linear polyphosphate or a polyphosphate blend having a short average effective chain length. The polyphosphate blend may further comprise a cyclic phosphate and a linear polyphosphate. The formulation provides whitening effects, decreased tooth sensitivity, strengthened tooth enamel, and remineralization. The present invention further relates to methods for making an oral care formulation comprising a linear polyphosphate or a polyphosphate blend having a short average effective chain length. Methods of applying an oral care formulation comprising a linear polyphosphate or a polyphosphate blend having a short average effective chain length are also disclosed. |
