1. A system for managing human machine interface (HMI) applications for industrial control and automation, said system comprising:
a processor; software instructions stored on a tangible, non-transitory media and executable by the processor, said instructions comprising: instructions for receiving data indicative of a manufacturing/process control system being monitored; instructions for displaying a user interface indicative of a status of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored, said status is based on the received data; instructions for displaying graphic elements as part of the user interface wherein each element is associated with and indicative of an alarm status of one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored; and instructions responsive to user input for rendering a visualization window in a single trend line of blended data including (1) received real time data of a process variable of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored and (2) historical data of the process variable of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored.
