The water-air separator for a vacuum cleaner with water, comprises a flat brush (4) provided with a hair or a group of hairs (5) arranged radially on the disc (6) or on a cylinder, and an unit to perform sealing between the rotating brush and a pipe that flows the water-air. The brush is disposed in a cylindrical shaped separation chamber (1) and actuated in a rotation perpendicular to the flow of air loaded with water drops to be eliminated, by means of an axis crossing an aspiration cone (3). The separation chamber comprises a gutter. The separation chamber comprises a gutter placed in the periphery of the chamber for collecting the water and debris, a device for ejection of water placed to the interior of the gutter and to the base of the separation chamber side to a water reservoir, and the aspiration cone allowing the flow of air through the brush. The water ejection device comprises an opening, a valve positioned on a point water flow, or a device to float. The ejection device is formed by a recuperator (11) disposed about and to the exterior of the chamber. The unit performing the sealing is constituted by a sealing joint disposed against an edge of the separation chamber, and by an alternation of tongue and groove placed in the upper part of the cylinder, between an edge of an upper part of the cylinder and the edge of the separation chamber. The sealing joint is in contact with the upper part of the brush so as to form a water joint when the separator is in function. A tubular brush for separation is placed in upstream of the flat brush, and formed by a cylinder having perforations of which the lower end point is sealed and an internal part is hollow so as to allow the flow of air. The largest diameter of the aspiration cone delimited by the edge is lower than the diameter of the brush. The rotation speed of the brush is a function of the aspiration power and of the flow of air through the vacuum cleaner.
