PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered metal bearing capable of using each end surface as a thrust bearing surface by being vertically reversed.SOLUTION: A sintered metal bearing 8 is formed by sintering raw material powder having been subjected to compression molding, and is provided with: chamfer parts 8e, 8e' on at least the outer peripheral edges of both end surface 8b, 8c; and dynamic pressure generation part 8a1 on an inner peripheral surface 8a, in which dynamic pressure is generated by sizing. In the sintered metal bearing, the axial dimensions a1, a1' of the chamfer parts 8e, 8e' are made smaller than the radial dimensions b1, b1' thereof, and between one end side and the other end side in an axial direction, the axial dimension difference, a1-a1', of the chamfer parts 8e, 8e' is made larger than the radial dimension difference, b1-b1', thereof. |
