PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for lighting which enables components in a lamp to be arranged at high accuracy.SOLUTION: A light source for lighting includes: a long housing 20; and a long substrate 110 where a center part is disposed in the housing 20, end parts are disposed protruding from opening surfaces in longitudinal end parts of the housing 20, and LED elements 120 are disposed on a surface. A cross section area of the substrate 110 on the opening surface is smaller than a cross section area of the substrate 110 in the longitudinal center part of the housing 20 which is arranged in parallel with the opening surface.
