PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit and image reading device that provide irradiation characteristics in which objects can be read with both visible light and light other than visible light.SOLUTION: A light source unit includes: light sources that emit visible light and light with a wavelength other than visible light; light guide bodies 2 that each have the light sources arranged at the ends, and are formed into a rod shape to propagate the light made incident from the light sources in the longitudinal direction; reflection layers that each are arranged on the outer shape face of the light guide body 2 and formed linearly along the longitudinal direction; and support members 3 that each surround the reflection layer and light guide body 2, have a predetermined width in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, and has a second reflection layer formed at an opening extending along the longitudinal direction. The reflection layer and support member 3 are formed of a reflector containing first light reflection material having the reflectance to light with wavelength other than visible light lower than the reflectance to visible light, and second light reflection material having the reflectance to light with wavelength other than visible light higher than that of the first light reflection material. |
