Genes which encode proteins for glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase

Isolated nucleic acid (I) that encodes a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (II) from Corynebacterium glutamicumin which Ala at position 243 has been replaced by some other amino acid, specifically Thr, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Vector (V) that contains (I); (2) Host cell (C) transfected with (V); and (3) Preparing fine chemicals by culturing (C).
